Imaginacts Entertainment was founded under the belief that it is possible to have top quality characters without having to go on holiday. Not every family can afford to go abroad to theme parks but every child does deserve to have their dreams come true. We value quality and authenticity and it is our mission to make each and every child feel special. We believe that there is no limit to the power of a child’s imagination and that it is important to encourage creativity. This is why all of our performers are experienced actors, singers and dancers. The training process is very rigorous and has been created by our director basing it upon her training from a previous role as a Character Performer in Paris. Every effort is made to ensure that our performers embody the characters they are portraying in voice, accent, posture, gestures, personality and movement so there is no doubt that they are real. Our director is an experienced costume designer and maker and hair stylist so not only do our characters sound genuine, they look it too. We believe in dreams and the power they have to inspire us all which is something we share with every child we meet.
Meet the Team
Kate - Director and Performer
Kate started performing at the age of three when she began ballet classes where she discovered that she adored performing in shows and so joined her school band and choir. She was fortunate enough to play and sing at the Royal Albert Hall at the age of just 12. Shortly after this, she joined her local amateur dramatics group and landed the role of Princess Aurora in their production of 'The Sleeping Beauty’. Since then, she has performed in a mix of pantomimes, musicals and plays with various local groups. Kate decided to audition for Disneyland and was successful in becoming a Character and Parade Performer which she did for just over a year. During this time, she did meet and greets, danced on the parades and she was also part of the opening cast of the Frozen Singalong Show. Since returning, she has worked extensively with children as an entertainer, choir leader and musical theatre teacher. Kate adores working with children and feels so privileged to share special, magical moments with them where they’re free to let their imaginations run wild and dream big.
Paige - Performer
Paige’s passion for performing began at age three when she started ballet, tap and modern dance classes. She performed every year at local theatres in dance shows. Paige has had dance training in many areas; ballroom, latin, cheerleading, rock and roll, commercial, contemporary and lyrical to name a few. From the age of seven, she began competing in dance competitions across the UK. She was the under 18’s south coast street dance champion and has performed on stages such as Her Majesty’s Theatre and The Royal Albert Hall. Paige is now a dance teacher and recently launched her own dance company where she teaches classes such as modern, contemporary and musical theatre where she teaches children all about her second favourite type of performance - singing! She has started choreographing for local theatre groups and when she isn’t teaching for her dance school, she is a special needs assistant in a Primary School. Paige adores working with children in the classroom and the dance studio but has found a real love for bringing magic into their lives as a character and helping to create special memories.
Alex - Performer
Alex has loved to perform ever since she was little, taking on principal roles in various dance showcases and musicals such as Grease and Fiddler on the Roof. She has earned titles at singing competitions and dance festivals all over the South of England, achieving first place in the Disney category of the Southampton Festival of Music and Drama 2018. She is looking forward to continuing her training as a triple threat performer and plans to audition for drama school in the near future to achieve her dream of being a West End musical theatre performer. She has loved performing at all of the Imaginacts events so far – she has always dreamt of being a character entertainer and being able to add a bit of magic to a child’s day has made the experience even more incredible. Alex is excited to be working with Imaginacts; she is excited to explore lots of new characters and to inspire as many young princes, princesses and superheroes as she can!
James - Performer
Since joining his first local theatre group back in 2013, James has performed in an average of three shows a year and has landed lead roles in musical productions such as Bill Sykes in ‘Oliver!’, Prince Christopher in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s ‘Cinderella’ (both at the NST Campus Theatre), Nicky/Trekkie in ‘Avenue Q’ at The Berry Theatre in Hedge End and Benjamin Coffin III in ‘Rent’ at The Point in Eastleigh. He also enjoys performing in plays and comedies with his favourite roles including Benedick in Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’, Richard Hannay in ‘The 39 Steps!’ and Alec Harvey in ‘Brief Encounter’. James’ passion for performing expanded to party and event entertainment in November 2018 when he began working as a children’s character performer. His favourite thing about working with children is how much fun he has with them – he enjoys running parties as much as the children enjoy participating! He is looking forward to where his journey with Imaginacts takes him!
Fi - Performer
Fi has been performing since she was a child, training as a singer and musician from the age of six. She started ballet classes and acting in school plays, winning several awards at drama and music festivals. As a young teenager, Fi attended Guildford School of Acting to continue her studies in dance, acting and singing. Throughout her teenage years she studied many forms of dance and drama, and had several professional acting jobs before attending university to study performing arts full time.
Since graduating, Fi continues to perform professionally as well as getting involved with several local musical theatre groups. Her previous roles include Tracy in Hairspray, Daddy Brubeck in Sweet Charity, Stella Deems in Follies, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and various roles in concert shows and gigs, most recently dancing in Chicago.
Fi is excited to be working with Imaginacts, and is looking forward to bringing children the magic of their favourite characters.
Jim - Performer
Performing has been an important part of Jim’s life as far back as playing lead roles in primary school plays, and remains a passion to this day. With a background in music, Jim rekindled his love for theatre in 2015 upon joining his local musical society, and has since performed in a number of musicals and concerts hosted by a mix of local groups.
Some notable roles include Stacy Jaxx in 'Rock of Ages', Simon the Zealot in 'Jesus Christ Superstar', Roger Davis in ‘Rent’, Grandmaster Chad in ‘Legally Blonde’, Doody in ‘Grease’ and most recently Lucas Beinecke in ’The Addams Family’.
Jim is fondly nostalgic of the amazing imagination of childhood, and is looking forward to helping youngsters create their own sense of wonder!
